NPT Shopmobility now offer a car pick up service.
Our new car service can pick you up from home and bring you in to either of our Neath or Port Talbot shops and take you home afterwards at a time that suits you.
The pick up and return service operates within the whole of the Neath Port Talbot County boundary only, and there is a small charge for the service which helps to cover the vehicle running costs.

Car Pick Up Service

Our new car service can pick you up from home and bring you in to either of our Neath or Port Talbot shops and take you home afterwards at a time that suits you.
The pick up and return service operates within the whole of the Neath Port Talbot County boundary only, and there is a small charge for the service which helps to cover the vehicle running costs.
Scooters
We have a variety of 3 and 4 wheeled scooters of different sizes available for daily use, all with baskets.
We can attach stick-holders if needed and we can also provide rain capes when necessary.
The charge for a scooter is £5 per day.
Holiday Hire
From May 2024, we will have a small number of Compact Travel Scooters available for weekly/short term hire for a maximum of 14 days. These can be taken anywhere within the UK only. The weekly charge will be £40.00 per week.
A £100 deposit is required (which will be refunded on return of the equipment in good/undamaged condition).
Wheelchairs
Manual wheelchairs are available for short term hire for £3 per day (to be returned in the day) or £5 overnight for return next day.
Longer term hire is available for £30 per week, or £15 for weekend hire (Pick up on Friday – return Monday)
A £20 cash deposit is required for overnight/weekly hire which will be refunded when the equipment is returned in complete/undamaged condition.

To ensure availability of equipment suitable for your needs please pre-book by calling us on Neath 01639 637372 or Port Talbot 01639 894949.
In extreme weather such as snow, ice or high winds being forecast, please call us first to check that our services are operating. On some occasions, we may have to close or offer a limited service, so please check before you leave home.
Where to find us
Neath Shopmobility
Neath Shopmobility is located on the ground floor inside the new multi-storey car park, Prince of Wales Drive, Neath SA11 3EW.
Our shop entrance is by the car park lifts next to the former WILKO store.
We have dedicated parking spaces close to our shop on the ground floor for use by our customers. (normal car-park charges apply)
Port Talbot Shopmobility
Port Talbot Shopmobility is located inside the Aberafan Shopping Centre, Port Talbot next to the multi-storey car park.
We have a dedicated drop off and pick up point on the first floor of the car park close to our shop for use by our customers and we can bring/collect scooters and wheelchairs to the car if necessary.
Please note that the car park does not operate concessions for blue badge holders and normal car-park charges apply.

Set up in 1997, Neath Port Talbot Shopmobility Ltd is a Registered Charity Number 1068667 and a Company Limited by Guarantee Registered in Wales Number 03445091.
Our objective is to assist people with mobility impairments, whether temporary or permanent to access the shopping centres and locality within the towns of Neath and Port Talbot. We are a “not for profit” organisation and all of our funding goes towards providing services for our users.
We are a key strategic partner working closely with Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council who provide part of our funding by way of an annual core-grant towards our running costs. The remainder of our costs are funded by the income generated from hire charges for the use of our equipment. We also sell radar keys.
We have two shops, one in Neath Town Centre which has five dedicated parking spaces close to the shop (normal car-park charges apply) and the other in the Aberavon Shopping Centre in Port Talbot which has a dedicated drop-off/pick-up point at ground level in the multi-storey car park close by. We can also assist by bringing equipment to your car where necessary.
Anyone who has a mobility impairment can use our services, but you must first register with us before you can use our equipment.
